All About Us!

Trinity Educational is made up of two teachers, Karen & Jo, both regular posters on the TES forums (especially the Primary one).

Karen is currently a year 6 teacher, Maths Coordinator and gaining AST status.   Sheis the featured Primary School teacher in the new edition of Sue Cowley’s Guerilla Guide to Teaching. She has also contributed to Getting the Buggers to Think and has had articles published in TES and scholastic magazines. Karen qualified in 1994 from Keele University with a PGCE in English and History, and went off to teach English and Drama in a huge secondary school in the Midlands. After three years, she made the switch to the Primary sector, which was a great move where she now feels she is able to make a big difference! Her classroom has been described as an outstanding and stimulating learning environment by the LA senior inspector, and she has developed role play areas and is well known for her Sentence Tree! Karen has five children, a partner who is obsessed with engines and a dog called Noodles.

Jo is currently working in an expanding, popular middle school in Somerset, teaching Maths to Years 5-8, and is the KS2 Maths Coordinator.  She did her Secondary Maths PGCE in 2000, after completing a degree in Maths & Geography, and has experience of teaching in secondary schools, where she developed an affinity for the younger and less able pupils, so a move to a local middle school was an ideal move!  Her classroom is the one in the school with the most (and best!) wall displays, although some colleagues (all men!) find it over-whelming!  She is also a teacher governor and used to be on the PTA, so is fully involved in school life.  She plays the clarinet in the school orchestra and band and has just started to learn the Saxophone in anticipation of the next school production which hopes to be We Will Rock You!
